It may seem a very good idea for a national bus pass would it not be a better one if it was not for off peak travelling only?. Quite a lot of people use the pass not only for 'pleasure' alone but for other purposes as well such as hospital appointment etc. If the appointments are at a certain time you either have to pay for your fare or miss your appoitnment which defeats the objective of the 'free bus pass'

The simple answer is move to Merseyside!!! Here the local transport authority(Merseytravel)fund the additional benefit of free travel at anytime. They also fund free travel on the Merseyrail network

Do the present bus passes apply toall people over 60yrs. and can they be used Nationally yet?
